Matoyana Business Solutions

Matoyana is a boutique business consulting agency was established in 2013, with the single-minded focus of enabling South Africa’s growing entrepreneurship economy. Targeting start-ups, small and medium enterprises, Matoyana’s business training, toolkits and expertise is all about promoting a culture of entrepreneurship, innovative thinking and sustainable business.

Collaboration is central to our business model. We pride ourselves in the depth and breadth of relationships we have established with complementary B2B service providers. As and when required, we call on these service providers who partner with us in delivering our service to clients.


Our Philosophy

Matoyana believes in playing an active role in cultivating a sharing economy amongst and between the entrepreneurs and small businesses we engage. As such, our clients and service providers alike are part of our value chain and are promoted within our networks through referrals and proposed collaborations, where relevant.

Founder and Lead Consultant

She has more than 8 years of experience working with two fortune 500 multinationals in the FMCG and TELECOMS industries in markets across the Middle East and Africa in the areas of Logistics, Market Planning and Corporate Finance. She has spent over 5 years in different roles and working on a variety of brands at Procter and Gamble South Africa and over 3 years at Nokia International, based in Johannesburg and later in Nairobi, Kenya. Nokwazi has an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Hult International Business School, Boston. She also holds a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Witwatersrand as well as an undergraduate degree in Cell Biology and Psychology from the University of KwaZulu Natal. She holds a certificate in Innovation Management from the Global Innovation Management Institute.

Since Jan 2013, Nokwazi has been a coach and mentor on the Goldman Sachs-GIBS 10,000 women Certificate programme. Through this process she has reviewed over 50 business plans of a range of businesses such as catering, construction, farming and retail businesses. She is also part of a team of selected mentors and coaches on the 10,000 women programme where she facilitates a monthly coaching session for a group of entrepreneurs. Nokwazi is committed to the development of promising young entrepreneurs and is currently mentoring a young entrepreneur on a pro bono basis.
